1. Manage passwords wisely. Use a mix of capital and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.
2. Avoid using the same password on multiple sites.

3. Skip common passwords such as birthdays, anniversaries, or the name of a loved ones.
4. Make sure it’s easy for you to remember, but make it something difficult for someone else to figure out.
5. Don’t share your password with others. Don’t write it down or keep it somewhere that is easily accessible.
6. If you need help remembering passwords, consider a password storage program that is secure such as LastPass.
7. Make passwords long. At least eight characters is best.
8. Don’t use single words. If it can be found in a dictionary, it can be guessed.
9. Don’t use a common password such as the word ‘Password’ or a string of numbers such as ‘12345678.’
